How Does It Feel?
How does it feel…
To have someone who inspires you, not just with their words, but with the quiet consistency of their actions?
Someone who doesn’t just tell you to be better, but gently walks you there.
Who reminds you of Allah not by preaching, but by living. Who sees the khayr buried beneath your mess, your mistakes, your silence and calls it forth like a gardener speaks to seeds.
It feels like rain falling after a long drought; like someone found your scattered pieces, held them delicately, and says, “There’s still beauty here.” It’s the way they remind you of what you could be, not for this world alone, but for the ākhirah.
They don’t just pull you out of darkness; they sit with you in it, softly lighting a lamp of hope. They believe in your growth even when you feel like a burden and somehow, even in your silence, they understand.
The feeling? It’s unexplainable, but if you’ve ever had someone like that, you’ll know it’s a kind of love that brings tears to your du’ā’. Not romantic, but Rahmāni; rooted in what Allah loves.
The Prophet ﷺ said,
"The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others." — (Musnad al-Mu’jam)
And so you ask yourself…
What did I ever do to deserve someone like this? Someone who sees my wounds, but reminds me of my worth. Someone who inspires not just achievement, but taqwā; not just ambition, but Jannah.
You start praying for them with trembling hands, not because they asked, but because your heart needs to.
You want Allah to guard them, reward them, and reunite you if not in this world, then at a river of milk in Paradise. You want your name to be found next to theirs in the scrolls of the righteous. And in your quietest moments, you plea:
"Rabbī, don't let me ever lose a soul like this without the reward of it reaching me in the Hereafter."
Because now you know some people are sent by Allah not to stay forever…
But to remind you where you’re headed.
